Leeds Cycling Campaign’s Cycling Awards are back this year. Help us find the Leeds Cycling stars of 2023!
The awards shine a spotlight on and celebrate individuals and teams who are making a significant contribution to promoting and encouraging more people to take up cycling in our city.
We have four award categories intended to highlight the strong cycling culture developing in Leeds. In addition our Rotten Tomato award gives you the opportunity to show where more work remains to be done!
Space for Cycling Award
Awarded to the transport infrastructure project that has had the most significant impact on promoting cycling and a cycle-friendly environment in Leeds in the past year. This could include new cycle ways, cycle parking facilities, or general road projects that assist and encourage cycling.
Best Cycling Promotion
Awarded to the education or promotion project that has had the most significant impact on encouraging cycling and a cycle-friendly environment in the past year. This could include publicity campaigns, school education programmes, or promotional cycling events. Nominations could be for individuals, third sector or statutory organisations.
Cycle-friendly Commitment by Business
Awarded to a business that has made significant efforts in encouraging and supporting cycling by its staff, customers or clients during the past year. Cycle-friendly actions might include cycle parking / changing facilities, employee support and incentive programmes or a company 'pool' bikes schemes.
Cycling Champion of the Year
This category recognises the contribution made by an individual to the promotion of cycling in Leeds. It could be someone making a significant difference in their local community or someone working across the city making a significant difference in their professional role.
Rotten Tomato Award
Awarded to the transport infrastructure, organisation or media outlet that has had the greatest negative impact in the last year on cycling in Leeds.
Award winners will be announced some time in Autumn 2023. All winners will receive a beautiful framed certificate as an acknowledgement of their achievements.
