Leeds Cycling Campaign were this morning saddened to hear the news of a man who was killed whilst cycling along Gelderd Road yesterday evening.
Our first thoughts are with his family and friends, and our condolences go out to all that knew him.
In 2014 the number of cyclists and pedestrians killed or seriously injured in Leeds rose by 21% and 12% respectively. This is clearly both worrying and preventable. Leeds Cycling Campaign urge West Yorkshire Police, Leeds City Council, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to step up their efforts to make our roads a safer place for all road users.
