Early Day Motion no. 679: Get Britain Cycling!

A very sensible and positive Early Day Motion has been proposed, so let's ask our local MPs to give their voices to the cycling cause. An EDM is a way for MPs to sign up to a cause and show their support for it in parliament. It doesn't normally lead to anything, but as you can see from the list below, it's a good way of finding out whether your MP is cycle-friendly.

Leeds is mainly covered by eight constituencies:
Elmet and Rothwell (Alec Shelbrooke, Con);
Leeds North West (Greg Mulholland, Lib Dem - he's signed the EDM);
Leeds Central - Hilary Benn (Lab);
Leeds West (Rachel Reeves, Lab);
Leeds East (George Mudie, Lab - he's signed the EDM);
Morley and Outwood - Ed Balls (Lab);
Leeds North East - Fabian Hamilton (Lab, rides a bike and is on the Sponsor list of this EDM. Extra teacakes for Fabian!);
Pudsey - Stuart Andrew (Con)

If your MP has already signed, drop them an email and tell them how wonderful they are! If they haven't, contact them and ask them to sign up and show their support for cycling!
