START POINT is Pret-a-manger, Leeds Rail Station, concourse side
You will need a road bike or a hybrid bike with wide tyres (28 mm or wider)
either having a triple chain set at the front or gearing that allows you to ride steep inclines.
Please note while a mountain bike could be used on this ride the
weight and rolling resistance may too great for the distance.

The new segregated cycle way in Leeds City Centre along Wellington Street

A section of the Leeds to Liverpool canal up to Armley

A steep incline up Redcote Lane through Armley Park

A steady incline up Tong Road up to New Farley

Scenic views of Pudsey from Whitehall Rd

A busy 4 mile section of road along the A58 near Birkenshaw

Café stop in Birkenshaw

Quiet country roads through Hunsworth & Scholes

A busy 3 mile section along the A643 to Brighouse

A six mile section of tarmacked canal tow path & woodland track (also tarmacked) along the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal passing through

Cromwell Bottom nature reserve

A tarmacked track along Hebble Brook towards Halifax

Lifting your bike up ten steps to ride along a narrow ex-railway cutting at Baliff Bridge with panoramic views across Brighouse.

Lunch stop at Shay Café, Halifax

Very steep incline up Southowram Bank (2miles) with an option to turn off after a mile to ride flat for 300 yards and then ride a steep 100 yard cobbled incline to complete the remainder of the Bank

Joining the Spen Valley Greenway via Wyke Lane (2 miles)

Riding through Bierley to Pudsey, Farsley along the Leeds-Liverpool canal from Rodley to Leeds
