Long Ride to Goose Eye, Otley and to view Tour de Yorkshire

YOU'LL SEE THEM GOING UP,
YOU'LL SEE THEM GOING DOWN

Start time: 8.30am........please note earlier summer start time

Route description:
A hilly ride with a cafe stop in Keighley on the way out.  Then up to the Tour's first categorised climb of the day above Goose Eye and riding up it (only 0.6 miles). Either finding a spot on the way up or more likely in the melee at the top to view the riders.

Then up a long hill to go over Ilkley Moor and down a stony track to Ilkley.  OK for road bikes but need to go down with care.  Then if we have time we may stop at Cockpit Farm on the way to see the riders on a downhill section just before they go into Otley.  Home via Creskeld Lane.
  • possibly up to 2 hours at viewing points
  • bring snacks/sandwiches in case there is no time for a second cafe stop at Cock Pit Farm
  • all the above subject to alteration
