Road infrastructure debate - write to your MP

This coming Wednesday 5 July at 9:30am, there will be a debate on road infrastructure in Westminster Hall.

The debate has been secured by Huw Merriman (a Conservative MP and member of the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group). We don’t expect the debate to be focused entirely on cycling but it would be fantastic if lots of MPs turned up to make the case for better cycling infrastructure.

Cycling UK have been contacting the offices of any MPs that have historically shown an interest in cycling, inviting them along, sending them a briefing and letting them know that Cycling UK representatives will be in Westminster Hall from 8:30am to give verbal briefings to any MPs about to attend.

Cycling UK are asking for constituents help as they think it would give a stronger message if constituents were to contact your MPs and invite them along. It is after all you that they rely on to vote for them!

You can get contact details for your MP here.

A draft email and documents to attach are linked below. It would be best if you edit it to give it a local focus / gear it towards their political views / personalise it to their interests but of course feel free to send as is.

It would also be great if you follow up with a call to their office to ensure that they have seen it.
