A flatish ride with some mainly well surfaced off road sections. Lights would be good for the Parlington tunnel just before Aberford. A stop halfway through in Sherburn at The Little Teapot. I have not been myself but I have heard someone recommend it. Sadly though, no all day breakfast! Here is the menu:
Such good cafes that this will be a repeat of the 2 stops 25th July ride but amended to mostly avoid the Superhighway but including a short rough bridleway section when crossing the valley between Pudsey and Tyersal. Also a chance to view the 17th Century Grade 2 listed Newlay Weir which was partly destroyed by Storm Christophe in 2020.
Circular route heading west initially. Last chance to view the green belt between Bradford and Pudsey before Bradford Council build a road through it. Cafe stop at Eve's Cafe in Cleckheaton then onto the Spen valley greenway and after Dewsbury using some of the Wheel of Wakefield. Cross the M1 in style over the suspension bridge. Possibility of a second stop in Ossett at 25 miles. A fair bit of urban/suburban and I think mostly good tarmac surfaces.
Boar Lane, Railway St, East End Park, Osmondthorpe La, York Rd cycle superhighway, Barwick, Aberford, Micklefield, South Milford (lunch at T Post Tearoom). Return by Sherburn, Squires, Ledsham, Kippax, Colton, Halton Moor Rd, Shannon St, Boar Lane.
