Join us for a Magical Space for Cycling experience in Leeds this Christmas!
Following on from the superbly successful Space for Cycling campaign ride in May, Leeds Cycling Campaign is back to show that there are plenty of people who want to ride their bikes! Bling up your steed with Christmas sparkle, dig out that Santa hat, bring your friends and family to experience Magical Leeds at Christmas!
On 5 July the Tour de France will start in Leeds, most LCC members and others who cycle with Easy Riders will want to watch the race. To see it here is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Therefore unfortunately there will not be an Easy Ride on this day. The road closures and disruptions on other roads may make it difficult to be sure of having our usual easy, pleasant ride.
Normal easy rides re-commence as usual on Saturday 12 July.
We held a Big Bike Ride in Leeds on Saturday 17th May to support the national Space for Cycling Campaign, meeting in Millennium Square. See the ride report here.
Beeston Festival on Saturday 14th June is having a Cycling focus this year.
The organisers would like some short led rides and have asked if we can provide ride leaders. They are keen to make this the start of a regular South Leeds ride programme to compliment Easy Riders in North Leeds, and there will be plenty of help with route planning.
No doubt many of you are looking forward to the Le Tour coming to Yorkshire in July but have you heard about the "Tour de Roundhay"? This year's version of the Roundhay Live festival is being organised jointly by Leeds Cycling Campaign and Roundhay environmental Action Project - see their website at http://www.reap-leeds.org.uk/
