Gerri will lead an Easy Ride to Thorner along quiet country lanes north of Leeds, stopping for refreshments in Thorner.

Out through the City Centre passing near Temple Newsam. Mainly good tarmac cycling paths through and beyond the Centre. Pass under the M1 on a quiet road to the Aire /Calder navigation and through St Aidan’s nature reserve to Allerton Bywater. Compact ground covered with a fine gravel but ok for road bikes. Limited options for a coffee stop. Possibility at Carlton View Sandwich Bar (13 Miles) - good value breakfast type fare. Continuing on tracks and quiet roads to Fairburn Ings. Sandwiches, flapjacks and coffee machine here. Return to Kippax then more off-road to Garforth, Cross Gates.

Cycling is largely flat and on cycle paths (briefly) but mainly on roads.   Plenty of cafes in Pocklington to choose from.
